Changshu-Sihong Industrial Park, or CSIP, was approved in August 2008, with a planning area of 7.88 square kilometers. Total investment has accumulated to more than 1 billion yuan. Four vertical and four horizontal trunk roads were built with total length of 29 kilometers. 120 kilometers of pipeline networks were laid out. 690,000 square meters of land was greened. CSIP's bearing capacity for projects and industrial development is continuously enhanced by more than 500,000 square meters of standard workshops, apartments for talents, community centers and other supporting facilities.

Through years of efforts, CSIP has initially established industries such as commercial logistics equipment, special machine tool, transportation equipment, electronic components. The number of enterprises transferred from Suzhou accounts for 56% of all enterprises in the park while high-tech enterprises takes up more than 20%. Leading companies in their specific industries like Haimingsi New Materials, Yelightling, Huayi zhongheng, Yantie Food, Bafang Dongli, Excellent Numerical Control have settled in the park.

Administrative area, Administrative Committee and fiscal system of CSIP are independent. In March 2021 with approval from provincial government, it became the first and only Provincial South-North Co-development Characteristic Industrial Park thanks to the application work fully carried out in 2020.
